ARIZONA, USA: International Furniture Direct, manufacturer of case goods has expanded its warehouse in Phoenix by around 40 percent to increase its capacity to service West Coast and western Canada customers.

The facility expanded to 30,000 square feet from the previous 18,000 square feet, said vice president of sales and merchandising, Diana Zaldivar. The facility will now be able to hold more than USD775,000 in finished goods inventory in comparison to the USD500,000 prior to expansion.

Additionally, the facility expansion included increasing the amount of loading docks. New offices were also set up to house newly employed support staff to handle customer service, said Zaldivar.

According to Furniture Today, International Direct Phoenix also introduced an internal bar coding system to allow more accuracy in inventory report and reduce errors in the shipping process, creating a more streamlined and efficient process for shipping.

The extended facility will continue its services to California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Alaska and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The company’s existing leased 18,000-square-foot ware house in Houston and 22,000-square-foot warehouse in Chicago will continue operations as usual.
