New Distribution Center For Farmers Home

ALABAMA, USA: Farmers Home Furniture, one of the Top 100 American furniture companies announced its $10 million investment in a new distribution center in Franklin County that will bring 80 new jobs to northwest Alabama. The company bought a facility in Russellville Industrial Park with 325,000 square feet to serve as a distribution hub for its 35 stores in various locations throughout Alabama.

The employee-owned company was founded in 1949 by Sherwin Glass with 198 stores and more than 2,000 employees in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

According to Whnt News 19, Farmers had been searching in a few states before determining Franklin County as the best fit for its expansion purposes. The availability of skilled workers and support from City of Russellville, the Alabama Department of Commerce and the Franklin County Development Authority was key in the selection of location for Farmers. This new distribution center will be in a strategic location to serve neighboring state stores as well as move forward with its long-term growth plans.
